Matt Snellgrove (He/Him) is a freelance costume designer and visual artist based out of Kansas City, Missouri. He has a masters of fine arts degree in costume design and technology from the UMKC Conservatory in Kansas City, MO, and a bachelors of fine arts in theatre design and technology from the University of Southern Mississippi.

He currently resides in Kansas City, MO, with his husband Trey and cat Miss Bernina.

“I’ve always had a lifelong passion for the visual arts. Growing up in rural Mississippi shaped my hunger for storytelling as a means of escape and expression. Coupled with a penchant for fashion, I fell into costume design after seeing my first theatre production in college, and the rest is history.

I have an affinity for the unusual and unexpected, and I believe the only rules that exist in design are those we set for ourselves as designers.”
